My Internet trolls commentary during the quarantine

“Next Door is full of kind people who have community in mind with their posts.

Generally speaking what I notice is the ever-present internet Trolls who make mean-spirited, snarky comments and obviously do so because they REALLY need attention.

As a lead, I am alerted to vote to remove or don't remove these comments and so my attention is sadly drawn to these TROLLS who I can only imagine would never be brave enough face to face to say the kind of trash they do here and on other "anonymous" social media sites..

Recently a very kind hearted woman offered to make meals for those affected by this quarantine and sadly her post was highjacked by one of these internet trolls and even more sadly so much attention was showered on him, rather than the wonderful essence of the original post.

SO, MY SUGGESTION: FOR THE REST OF THIS QUARANTINE; COULD WE PLEASE ALL AGREE TO MAKE ZERO COMMENTS TO THE TROLLS AND CYBERBULLIES?

DON'T EVEN RESPOND TO THEM, JUST REPORT IT TO THE LEADS SO WE CAN HAVE IT REMOVED. THEY JUST TRY TO HIJACK OTHER PEOPLE'S POSTS AND APPARENTLY HAVEN'T LEARNED THAT THERE IS IN FACT A TIME WHEN NO ONE CARES ABOUT THEIR BS COMMENTS.

IMAGINE HOW UNSATISFYING IT WILL BE IF NO ONE GIVES THEM ANY ATTENTION AND THEIR COMMENTS ARE SIMPLY REMOVED. NO ATTENTION EQUALS DIMINISHING SATISFACTION FOR GETTING PEOPLE RILED UP.

LITTLE SHADOW TROLLS LIVE FOR THE NEGATIVE ATTENTION. SO, LET'S DON'T FEED THEM. LET'S JUST DOUBLE UP ON THE PRAISE AND APPRECIATION FOR THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO REALLY JUST DO CARE ABOUT OTHERS AND NOT JUST ABOUT THEIR OWN OPINIONS.

In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses[2] and normalizing tangential discussion,[3] whether for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.
