This strange time in our history has pushed us all inside or “at home” and so I’m doing my part to keep creating content that might be interesting for my readers.

One of the coolest thing I’ve been involved with this past year is bringing my gang from my GP series to life in a new format with Zac Skellington Conley, a very talented creator of numerous forms of art. If you aren’t familiar with the GP series, go to the book store tab under ‘chapter books’ and take a look.

The plan is to create six comic books that will then be gathered together for a graphic novel. The storyline is told by Gabe, now a grown up, looking back at his adventurous childhood. He returns to his old “stomping grounds” to revisit the fun of growing up in a country neighborhood. The storyline will move fluidly back and forth in his childhood as it evolves, but it begins the first day of summer, after his eighth grade year in school.

Gabe, a comic book fan, has ordered the classic Sea Primates* from the back of one of his comic books (probably an Archie) and the backfire is that the Sea Monster has apparently eaten his mean big brother Carl. The adventures of summer begin. Here are the first four panels of the new, upcoming series.

*(cannot use the actual name of the famous product sold in many comic books, with the classic picture of the king and queen, only to disappoint millions of us when we got tiny little brine shrimp we had supposed to be related to chimps somehow.)
